Annual Reports to Shareholders (ARS) have a public relations purpose:

- Management & Strategy
President's Letter for strategy and goals.

- Marketing
Sales by product, by brand, and by country

- Executive bios

 10-Ks are required by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) & have a legal purpose:

- Property ownership

- Legal issues

- Environmental impact

- Executive salaries

Linked in Mergent Online or go directly to public company web sites via Google. Within the report, look for the "corporate" section, often called "Investor Relations" or "Financials",  or similar. (Not available for private companies.)

Securities & Exchange Commission filings are available on the SEC web site and also from the company's web page.

• Form 8-K (current information including preliminary earnings announcements)
   
• Registration statements including Form S-1 (general registration statement under the Securities Act of 1933,used for new issuers) and Form F-6 (registration statement used by foreign issuers of American Depositary Receipts)
