National Library Week

National Library Week, April 8 – 14, 2018, is a time to celebrate our nation’s libraries and library workers for transforming lives through free access to technology, information literacy, diverse collections and opportunities for community engagement. The National Library Week 2018 celebration will mark the 60th anniversary of the first event, sponsored in 1958.

Celebrate National Library Week!

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.
