What to look for

Trade association web sites offer information about:

-Regulatory and legal climate. Look for a section called "government affairs". Also look at the related Federal agency to see both points of view on issues.

-Sales and marketing data. Look for sections called "research" or "industry statistics" (sometimes this data is "members only")

- Trends and forecasts. Look for a section called "what's new"

Strategy

Trade associations act as lobbyists and advocates with government regulators. Therefore their websites cover regulatory and legal issues. It is also useful to look at the Federal agency to see both points of view on issues.
