MADT 344 - American Cinema Research

This guide will help you with your research for your American Cinema annotated bibliography and library assignment.

Special Collections

There is an enormous amount of interesting materials available from various film research archives. Many of these will require you to go to the archive itself to view rare materials; however, many film archives are increasingly making some of their materials available online. Because of this, it's worth searching them to see if they have any interesting materials on your film.

Searching for Primary Sources

Much of your research in this class will require you to use primary sources (information that appeared close to the time of your film). Here are some useful places for you to look up primary research on your area of interest.

Searching for Books

You can search and find books in the Meriam Library by first selecting "Books @ Chico" at the One Search prompt on the Library homepage. CSU, Chico students, faculty, and staff can also borrow books from other CSU libraries. To search holdings across the entire CSU system, select "Books @ All CSUs" at the One Search prompt.
