With the move to the new search interface, the library will discontinue EDS, the EBSCO product that is currently the search box on the homepage. If you saved articles in folders from EDS this content will not be retained. In order to save all of your citations, it is recommended that you print our all of your citations so that you can find these articles again when we go to the new system.
Saved Articles in Discovery by EBSCO and
the New CSU System Wide Discovery Interface
The Meriam Library is adopting a new discovery search interface (OneSearch) as part of a shared consortial resource being implemented throughout all 23 CSU campuses. This new system will replace the library catalog and the Meriam Library’s current discovery system (Discovery by EBSCO), and is supported by the Chancellor’s Office.
Folders created and items saved in folders via our current discovery system,
Discovery by EBSCO, will no longer exist once we go live with OneSearch.
Recommended action for current Discovery folder users:
Print a list of citations for all of your saved folder items so librarians can assist
you in relocating full text access to them once OneSearch goes live in July 2017.
Step 1: Click on Advanced Search on the Search Everything tab.
Current discovery system: Search Everything – Discovery by EBSCO
Step 2: Sign in to your account by click the Sign In button at the top right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Once you’ve signed in, access your saved articles and saved searches by clicking the Folder icon.
Step 4: Once here, you can print the citations for your articles by clicking the Print button the right hand side of the screen. You don’t need to print each article individually; just print the article listing with citations in order to save all the necessary information to relocate the full text of your articles.
Step 5: Select your desired citation format (APA, MLA, etc.), then click the Print button. This will print citations for all of your saved articles.
Step 6: Once OneSearch goes live in July 2017, contact a librarian to assist you in relocating the full text of each article. Simply send your article citation list to your subject liaison librarian and they will find full text links for you. The subject liaison librarian listing can be found at https://tinyurl.com/SubjectLibs
